Ebixa® 10 mg Film Tablet contains memantine hydrochloride, an anti-dementia medicine. It is used for the treatment of adults with moderate to severe Alzheimer’s disease. Memantine acts on the glutamate/NMDA receptor system in the brain and helps regulate excessive glutamate activity associated with Alzheimer’s disease.

Ebixa treatment should be started and supervised by a doctor experienced in managing Alzheimer’s disease.

Specifications

How To Use

• Take Ebixa exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
• It is generally taken once daily at approximately the same time each day.
• Treatment is normally started at a lower dose and gradually increased to reduce the risk of side effects.
• The standard titration described in the product information increases the dose by 5 mg per week during the first three weeks, with a recommended maintenance dose of 20 mg once daily from week four, when appropriate.
• The 10 mg tablet may be used as part of the dose-titration schedule; it does not necessarily mean that 10 mg is the final daily dose.
• Patients with moderate or severe kidney impairment may require a lower dose.
